It is Chinese New Year! This character means "Spring" in Chinese. It is an emblem that we put on walls and doors during the celebration. We place them upside down to signify the arrival, because arrival and upside down has the same pronunciation [dao], please do not use this as a reference if you are planning on getting a tattoo... But if you would really like to get your names written in Chinese for tattooing or any other purposes, write us, maybe we can help.

春節要回高雄過年，於是做了一集What's up in Taiwan精華版，有點歲末回顧，除舊佈新的意思，沒想到花了比平常多出好幾倍的時間剪輯，最後在頭昏眼花中完成。在高速公路上用iPod聽了一遍，覺得這些受訪者說得真好...我們每次去做訪問，都會請對方有話直說，不必刻意說好話來推銷台灣，但是這一集連我聽了都有點感動，歡迎網友盡量轉載！

其中有些片段尚未播出過，但都是五個月來的採訪錄音，將來也會視情況發佈。希望能趕快找到更多女性的受訪者，或是來自北美以外的朋友...

#6 on iTunes Travel Podcast

忍不住要分享一下，What's up in Taiwan推出兩個月，今天在iTunes Music Store中，旅遊類(Travel)的訂閱排行榜裡排名第六，並且整個星期訂閱量排名都在前十名，甚至超過Lonely Planet, Disney等主流媒體的節目。前十名的節目中，我們是唯一介紹單一地區的旅遊節目，其他都是環球旅遊的介紹。

我上iTunes查了一下，分類為「旅遊」的Podcast在目錄中大約有六百多個，上周發現節目進入前十五名，就已經很意外，由於Apple不提供訂閱數據，只能從排名來臆測節目的收聽情況，真的很感謝大家的下載和推薦！

這個數據的背後，有沒有實質的意義呢？一位旅居美國的台灣聽眾來信說，他遇到很多人從來沒聽過台灣，現在他會請那些人去下載這個節目，並說這是他的家鄉。

貼這張圖像不像台北的一些小吃店，店老闆把報章報導貼在餐廳的牆面上？

Terry is an expat who lived in Taiwan for many years. When we thought about doing an episode to cover Chinese New Year (only a week away), He was definitely the man to talk to, because he is married to a Taiwanese woman (Julie) and they are the proud parents of a 8 months old daughter (Lulu). Julie's family lives in southern Taiwan, Terry visits her family on the 2nd day of the Chinese New Year, this is a Taiwanese custom, that makes Terry a Taiwan Ni-Shi; which means Son In-Law of Taiwan.

Vic is a Patent Attorney that grew up in California (visit his blog). He had the experience of visiting Taiwan every 10 years or so; it gave him the opportunity of seeing Taiwan's progressions periodically in the last 25 years. Vic also has a great appreciation for all sorts of food in Taiwan.

Vic Lin 出生於台灣，四歲移民美國，目前在加州擔任專利權律師，是一位虔誠的基督徒，為人也很風趣，他的岳父對他讚不絕口。這次短暫的商務旅行，是他第三次回台灣，透過他的訪談，任何人都會覺得台灣真是美食天堂。

Michael is a web designer (visit his website); he came to Taiwan to study Chinese on short term basis. Other than taking classes, he also enjoy reading comic books and learning about Chinese idiom to improve his language skills, but he never tried the news on Taiwanese TV because it's a bit too much for him to handle. He also has some suggestions for bikers in Taiwan.
